Paige's Easter Dress

This is Paige's Easter dress. Brad's grandma made it for her. She will have studio portraits done tomorrow, I was just making sure everything fits ok. I made her the little slip to go under it. Could not find one at the store and it was easier for me to make what I wanted. Her shoes are too big, but that's ok we will go with out them. It's a really special dress, and can't wait to see how the pictures turn out.

Well, the last three nights Paige has slept the whole night through! Woo Hoo! We switched her to Goat's Milk to supplement with instead of formula and she's doing great. Believe me, we've tried everything. I was so ready! I'm exhausted tonight, hopefully I can crochet a little since I need to unwind. Don't know if she's going to let me! I am cooking dinner now and then it will be her bed time. She did not take a nap at all today to speak of, she kept getting woke up and it's so frustrating! Anyhow, enough of my whining!

Romper and Sweater

Here is the romper and sweater I made for Paige. She wore it to meet Great Grandma and celebrate grandma and mommy's birthdays.

Last night was rough. I only average about 4 hours of sleep per night. She has colic symptoms although I don't think it's colic. I think it's still her tummy troubles. I'm exhausted and don't know what to do! I can't get her on a schedule and it's so frustrating!
Anyone else like this??

Welcome Paige Marie

Well, I have been neglecting my blog for far too long due to the addition to our family. Paige Marie was born 4 weeks early on December 27th. She is doing fine and is getting so big!
Here are some hats that I made for her. Some she likes more than others.....

Things are going well here, I have decided not to go back to work at this time. I have taken a personal leave of abscence and can do that for up to one year. At that time I can decide what I would like to do. So I am still on employment status and can go back with just 2 weeks notice. My last pay check will be this week and we will see how that all goes! Wish us luck!!!
I will post more photos soon as I have a couple of more works in progress to show off.
I have a bunting I made for Paige as well as a throw I am making for my cousin's wedding in June.

Christmas Items

Here are some photos of what I have been up to. I made a lot of my Christmas items this year. I just hope the people receiving them are not disappointed! Mostly for the kids.

This hat is for my nephew so when he plays out side in SD snow he won't be cold!

This bag is for my neice, I filled it with some goodies for her.

This cradle purse is for another neice. She's big in to babies these days. I think she will like it.

Baseballs for the two little nephews. They will be perfect for grabbing, throwing and chewing! The pattern came from an old workbasket magazine and you make them just like a real baseball.

This head band is for another neice. She's the girly girl one and this fits her to a T. Her sister's is blue and green stripe, but I did not get a picture of that one. Forgot before I wrapped it!

These slippers are knit from a pattern my grandmother gave me. She used to make them for us every year, but now she can not see any longer and has passed the pattern on to me. So I made her a pair this year! My aunt also got a pair, and hers are red. No picture, mailed the box before I rememebered.

I have some more things to add, will do that after I get the pics downloaded!

Here is a preemie set that I made for my friend Josh and his wife, Brooke. They are expecting a baby anytime. She will be delivered by C-section and will have surgery soon after at Children's Hospital. Baby girl has her intestinal track out side of her body and will be in the hospital for some time after the surgery. I wanted her to have somthing to keep her warm in the hospital. It's a little jacket and hat that may not fit her if she's super tiny and a small granny square blanket that I thought they could put over her in the isolette if they will let them. Anyhow, I pray for the best for them.

Baby Update

I haven't written much about baby lately! Baby is doing well. We had a scare about 20 weeks or so where my OB thought there was a hole in the baby's heart on the ultrasound. So we decided rather than wait and see we would go to a specialist to find out for sure and know what our options were. We went to the specialist, and wouldn't you know it, but baby was uncooperative! :) Must take after daddy..... haha They got a good picture of the heart and said there is a spot on it, but it is normal as that is where the tendons attatch. He also said I have a 1.3 percent chance of having a baby with Down's Syndrome so we opted not to have the amnio. The brain was developed normally and the baby was really active. Playing with it's toes is the favorite thing to do these days.
Baby does not like to have anything pushing on my tummy. Not even my jeans or my own leg or arm. Baby will kick at it and push on it to make it go away. Kicked me so hard the other day that I jumped in my chair at work and my co-worker wanted to know what was wrong with me!
We went to the Talladega, AL Nascar race last weekend and had a great time. The baby's first Nextel race. We went to a truck race earlier in the year. The noise really got the little one moving! We made it home safely and I did not have any trouble traveling. I am now officially grounded though until baby gets here.

I am off to yard sale with my dad! We are having one to sell some of grandma's things as she is in assisted living and we need to minimize some of her things.

County Fair

I entered three afghans in to the county fair this year. Thought it might be kind of fun. My starghan that you can see in below posts received a 2nd place red ribbon. The multi-colored one received a 1st place blue ribbon and the green and cream striped won a 1st place blue ribbon and actually won the special award of Best Afghan! I was so excited! My friend from work called me to tell me earlier in the week so I could not wait to get to the fair and take some pictures!
This was my first time entering and really did not know what to expect. The pictures are not that great, but the lighting in there was not the best.

Braven's Baptism

My newest nephew, Braven Mark, was baptised over Labor Day weekend. He's such a cutie! I made him this set when he was born, he's now 6 months old. I never thought it would actually fit him! There is a hat that has a baseball bill on it, booties, a sweater and an afghan. I was so hot in the church that day that he only wore it for pictures, but was really neat. Oh, the buttons are actually little fish. I thought they were cute. Yes, that is me in the picture with him. I was his god mother. I was about 20 weeks pregnant there and he is pretty heavy for me!

Melia's Sweater Poncho Hat and Afghan

My friend, Sherri is adopting a baby girl from China. She leaves next month to go and pick her up. I made Sherri the sweater poncho and hat for her birthday and I think it will look cute on Melia. I am sure I am not spelling her name correctly, but I think it is close, and then the baby afghan was for the baby shower. She will be about 8 months old when she gets to her new home. We can't wait to welcome her here.

Look what my wonderful Secret Pal, who was Kayveryn or Jacque sent me! I just love it all, Jacque! I LOVE all my turtle things you have sent me! If you have patterns for them, I would love to have them! The hat is so cute! I can't wait to try it on baby. I also love the tape measure! You did a great job if you created that pattern yourself. You are so talented! I also love the book thong turtle. I have already put him to good use! :)
I know you have been out looking at my wish list as the journal and the wool yarn are things I have been wishing for and can't wait to use them. I have just the pattern for the yarn too.... Felting, here I come!

Still Alive

Yes, I am still alive.....
I have been so busy! We have been remodeling the bedroom and new furniture. My family was here last week. My mom, dad, sister and her 5 kids were here. It was a lot of fun and I miss them all terribly! Can't wait to hopefully get back up there in September for the baby's baptism. I have not done a lot of crocheting because of being busy and being sick with baby on the way. We're almost 14 weeks now and starting to feel better thank goodness! :)

bummed today

Well, I found out today that there is no way that my new bedroom furniture will be here in time for my parents to get here. They will be here on July 13th and the furniture may be here by the 10th. Well, it's all unstained so that means it won't be ready. But I think I will be able to make arrangements to have it stained and delivered since I now can not do it on my own with baby on the way. So I am bummed out because I was hoping it would be done. I just hope it will be able to be done before the baby gets here. If not, I will paint it then.
I don't know what I will do about the baby room...
Anyhow, baby is due January 20th. So I am now 2 months along. I go back in about a week and a half for another U/S to see how things are going.
I wish I had more energy! So much to do, so little time! I feel bad that I have been neglecting my swap partners on crochetville! Sorry guys! I will do better!
Maybe now that I have had my daily nap I can go and clean the bathroom or maybe the kitchen?? :)

Good News!

Well, we have good news to share! We found out May 16th that we are expecting! Little Bean is due some time in January. We go Tuesday to find out more details. I had two sets of blood tests last week and an ultrasound this week and all looks good. We are about 5 weeks.
The really good news is I feel great. I have not been sick, the only real symptoms I have are I am tired a lot. Some nausea/heartburn, but no real morning sickness.
Thank God for his blessings each day because he truely does know the desires of the heart and once we give our hopes and dreams to the Lord, only He can make them come true.

Rainbow Starghan

Here is my rainbow starghan. I absolutely love it! I got the idea from Becky at Hazelnutt Latte. See her button on the side link.
I started with Beth's Little Star pattern Star Afghan Pattern , but then I used the different start for the first 2 rows.

I did 5 rows of the beginning color, 1 row white, 3 rows color, 1 row white and so on until I used all the colors I wanted to use! I used 7 colors. It's all done in double crochet and works up really fast. Mine measures 45 1/2" from point to point and I do crochet loose.

Sweater Poncho

Here is the sweater Poncho that I made for myself! I really like it it's the same pattern as the others from Emerald Moon Creations. I love the pattern. I still need to make some different flower pins for it so I can switch them out. I made this one out of some Simply Soft Yarn that I found at WM on clearance. This poncho cost me about 3 dollars. Not bad! :)

Monday Monday

Well, it's definately a Monday! I am exhausted!
I have been busy crocheting! I finished my sweater poncho. I still need to make myself a flower for it. I think I will make a couple of different colors so I can switch them out. The poncho is hunter green. I have also started another baby blanket. This is Beth's little star afghan in rainbow colors. I love it and can't wait to post the pictures of it so everyone can see! Hopefully this week.........

Mother's Day

Well, I am feeling a little better. Still pretty miserable. Darn allergies. Sore throat and my tooth is still killing me. Sinus cavity is so full of pressure that it's pushing on my tooth. Grrr. That tooth is too expensive, it needs to stop!
I took some pictures of the gifts I made for my mom for mother's day. In fact, I used her new camera! Ha! I just bought her a digital camera and wanted to make sure that it was working properly before sending it to her. I think that it takes really good pictures.

home today

Well, I was home today. I thought I was having tooth problems, but thank goodness it was only a Sinus Infection! I was hoping it was not the tooth that was root canaled a couple months ago. Hurts pretty bad though and am miserable.
My sister's family was all sick this last weekend and nephew and neice photoed below had RSV. The baby was in the hospital. So, prayers for the family would be greatly appreciated. I think they are on the road to recovery now.
Did some crocheting today. Worked on a dish cloth at the dr office, almost finished mom's gift -- just need a tie for it, put a ribbon in Braden's blankie, and started something for one of my swap partners. I have my scarfs ready to send out. Hopefully that will be tomorrow. We will see how I am feeling...
Off to sleep now! Pleasant dreams..........

New Pet

Well, I just got a new pet. Nope, not a turtle! It's a cat! Isn't he cute! He thinks I am sad, so I thought I would put in a post that says I am Happy! I just got the name of my Secret Pal today and my Kitchen/Bath Swap partner yesterday! I can't wait to get their projects rolling! So excited! I have lots of ideas for the bath project as well as for my Pal.
I am still working on the hook holder for my mom for mother's day. I hope that she likes it! I bought her some hooks to go in it too.
I best get dinner started before hubby gets home from school. It's almost summer time which means he gets a break! I will be glad when Algebra is through! (So will he!)

Second Scarf

Here is the second scarf that I have made for my Swap partner. I hope she likes it. It is made from the feathers yarn that I got from Wal-Mart. It has chenille in it so it's super soft. Will have to make one for me out of this too!

This baby afghan is for a girl that I work with. Her baby, Braden, is due in July. It still needs a ribbon, but have not been able to find the right color. Hope he likes it! It is made from Red Heart baby. The pattern comes from the Simple Crochet for Cherished babies. Simple V-stitch, but I really liked the boarder.

I am also working on a hook holder that was posted on Crochetville. That will be a mom's day present for my mom. I think I might fill it with some hooks and things too. I think she will like it. She is always loosing her hooks. Or having to hide them from the grandkids and who knows where they end up.

My New Button!

I want to thank my secret fairy who sent me my new button! I love it so so much! My hubby helped me get it set up and linked properly. I was so surprised to find it waiting for me when I got back from church today!
I spent some time this afternoon playing with buttons and adding them to my site. I have a few that I look at frequently and am sure there will be more as I get to know more people on crochetville. I have some new pictures to take! I did not get them posted today, but will get it done this week.

Here is Sydney's Sweater Poncho. She loved Molly's so much that I had to make her one. I also made a hat to match Molly's. I hope she likes it. I will have to get it off in the mail to her. I just got 2 really awesome magazines and can not wait to start making projects in them! Quick and Easy Knitting and Crocheting. This has to Die for projects in it, I made a list, and I have 10 in there I want to try!
Tonight, I got in the mail The Simply Creative Crochet book. I had to get it as I have seen that beautiful crochet beaded scarf everyone has been making. I really want to try that one out! Need to look for the "right" yarn and beads. I am thinking multi colors?? hmmm....

That's What I love about Sunday

It is a beautiful day here. I am getting ready to walk out the door to church and am looking out the window at beautiful sunny day that it is out there. The dogwoods are almost all the way out. Will be pretty all week.

On a sad note, I have decided to get out of my home business and just concentrate on my home, family and career. So, I will be selling off my Mary Kay inventory. That will be a task, because, well, I have a ton of it. So, if you know anyone that likes it, wants it, I have a bargain for them! Send me and E-mail.

Going to try to work on posting some of the buttons that I participate in this afternoon. We shall see about that one! I am determined that I can defeat this blog thing!

Molly's Sweater Poncho
